Laurie Riemer was appointed as a Special Master in Shareholders derivative suit and has served as an umpire in insurance coverage disputes and also in several blasting/mining cases. She served as an arbitrator in a class action suit involving 2000 plaintiffs and also in employment and condominium disputes. She serves as a U.S. District Court Class Action Neutral for The Collins Center for Public Policy. She was selected by the CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution to serve on their Panel of Distinguished Neutrals and also by the United States Postal Services as a mediator in their REDRESS program. She served as a moderator for a Women's Forum of The Young Presidents' Organization.

Laurie was appointed in 1999-2001 as Chair-person of the Mediation Committee of the Dade County Bar Association. In 1993-2001 she served on the Florida Supreme Court Committee on Mediation and Arbitration Training. From 1982-1990, she did civil litigation and real estate transactional work. From 1981-82, she interned for the Honorable Judge William M. Hoeveler, United States District Court of the Southern District of Florida.
