Ms. Jernigan focuses her mediation practice on commercial, family business mediation, construction, employment, ERISA, trust and estates and personal injury cases. She frequently serves as Chair on NASD arbitration panels and is an arbitrator for the National Arbitration Forum. She mediates workplace disputes for the United States Postal Service and mediates hurricane claims throughout the state of Florida. She has designed and implemented mediation training courses for the human resource departments of Eckerd Corporation and Orlando Regional Health Care Systems.

Background Michelle Jernigan was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1982. She maintained a commerical and family law practice until 1987 when she began her mediation career. Ms. Jernigan was one of the first mediators to became supreme court certified in Florida. To date she has mediated literally thousands of cases, specializing in hurricane, ERISA, commercial, construction, personal injury and employment disputes. Ms. Jernigan has been a mediation panelist with Upchurch Watson White and Max since 1992 and is now a shareholder with the firm. She is a Founding Member, Past President and Director of the Florida Association of Professional Mediators, the first statewide, not-for-profit association of its kind serving Florida's court certified mediators. Ms. Jernigan has served as an Assistant and Primary Trainer in the Florida Mediator Certification Courses since 1992, has published a number of articles on mediation and is a frequent lecturer in the field of ADR.
