Mr. Erwin began conducting mediations in 1993 and currently has a full-time mediation practice. He served as Co-chair for the South Carolina Supreme Court Commission on ADR which had the responsibility for drafting model rules that are now being implemented in pilot programs in seven counties.

Mr. Erwin has lectured both to the South Carolina Judicial Conference on the ADR Rules and Procedures as well as to the South Carolina Defense Attorneys' Association.
