On December 15, 2007, Mr. Taichert retired from his law practice. He will continue in his mediation and arbitration practice as well as serve as Chairman of the Board for the Mind Research Network, an independent foundation studying mental illness.
Mr. Taichert has been an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association with wide experience for more than 30 years. He was the sole arbitrator who awarded the Basic source code to Microsoft in a private, non-administered arbitration between Microsoft and another software company in 1978. He has served as sole arbitrator and on panels with arbitrators in a variety of areas including construction, health care, environmental, insurance, legal, medical and architects malpractice, contracts, pharmaceuticals, computer software, hardware and applications, intellectual property, personal injury, manufacturing, banking, trusts and estates, commercial agreements and real estate. He has also been active as an advocate for clients in mediation and arbitration in a variety of disputes.
Mr. Taichert is a member of the Commercial, Construction, Large Complex Case and Mediation Panels of the American Arbitration Association and a faculty member of the Attorney-Mediator Institute.
