For more than thirty-five years, Mr. Reid's practice has focused on the litigation, arbitration and mediation of business and other disputes. He has extensive experience in the construction industry having represented owners, contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and sureties in connection with a wide variety of projects including signature buildings and facilities throughout the United States. Since 1995 Mr. Reid has focused his practice on serving as a mediator and arbitrator. He has successfully mediated hundreds of cases involving real estate, construction, environmental, government, banking, labor, and general corporate matters.
His work as an arbitrator has encompassed service on arbitration panels where the claims presented were large, factually intense, and legally complex. He has also served as a single arbitrator on cases of more limited scope.
Mr. Reid is recognized nationally as a speaker and lecturer on alternative dispute resolution. He has presented programs for numerous institutions and corporations including the Practicing Law Institute; the International Council of Shopping Centers; the Georgia Institute for Continuing Legal Education; George Washington University; the University of Kentucky; the University of Oklahoma; the United States Postal Service; Merck & Co.; Consolidated Edison, Inc.; and, the Washington Post. He has also served as a guest lecturer on alternative dispute resolution for the Georgia Institute of Technology.
