About

A.J. Krouse is a litigation partner who concentrates his practice in the areas of class action /mass torts; energy and environmental; employment and maritime law matters. His practice also focuses on electronic discovery issues — specifically litigation hold orders and the production of electronically stored information. He is a certified mediator with the International Mediation Institute. Mr. Krouse is also a fellow in the Academy of Court Appointed Masters (‘ACAM’); and the College of Commercial Arbitrators (‘CCA’);. Mr. Krouse also serves as an arbitrator with the American Health Lawyers’ Association (‘AHLA’); and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (‘FINRA’);. Mr. Krouse has been inducted as a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (‘ClArb’); and given the designatory letters FCIArb.

As a member of the American Arbitration Association (‘AAA’); National Roster of Neutrals, Mr. Krouse serves on the Association’s class action, large, complex case, commercial, and employment and energy panels. Mr. Krouse has also served as an arbitrator in the AAA’s Automobile Industry Special Binding Arbitration Program and the Disaster Recovery Claims Resolution Services.

Background

Upon graduation from Loyola University, New Orleans, in 1977, Mr. Krouse was commissioned in the United States Army as second Lieutenant in the Military Police Corps. After receiving an Honorary Discharge as a Captain, Mr. Krouse graduated from Loyola University School of Law in 1984. He served as a federal judicial law clerk and extern for Senior U.S. District Judge A.J. McNamara from 1983 to 1985.

During his tenure at Frilot, Mr. Krouse has earned several awards and honors, including 2012 Best Lawyers in America in the area of Mass Torts Litigation and Corporate Counsel’s 2012 Top Rated Lawyers Guide to Alternative Dispute Resolution. He was also selected for the 2011 New Orleans City Business ‘Leadership in Law’ Award, recognizing the top 50 lawyers in New Orleans. Mr. Krouse was selected to join the International Association of Defense Counsel (‘IADC’); and the Council on Litigation Management (‘CLM’);. He has been named to the 2007, 2008 and 2010 Super Lawyers List by the Louisiana Life Magazine.
