About

John Feerick is the recipient of the ACCTM 2007 Lifetime Achievement Award.

ÿDean Feerick is presently a full-time professor at Fordham Law School and the founder and director of the Feerick Center for Social Justice and Dispute Resolution which provides Fordham Law students an opportunity to work on cutting-edge legal issues critical to the poor and under represented, with family homelessness being among the center’s most urgent priorities.

ÿProfessor Feerick has been a mediator and arbitrator of many disputes including labor disputes at
the Jacob K. Javitz Convention Center, the 1994 transit ne;tiations in New York City, the National Football League salary cap and in the National Basketball Association. He previously chaired the Ethics Committee of the Dispute Resolution Section of the American Bar Association and a joint committee of the American Bar Association, American Arbitration Association, and the Society of Professionals in Dispute Resolution that developed a set of ethical standards for mediators of disputes

Background

ÿHe considers his most important public services to be: participation in the formulation, adoption,and implementation of the 25th Amendment to the US Constitution; service in the United States Army; chairing the New York State Commission on ;vernment Integrity; serving as a Special Deputy New York State Attorney General; chairing the New York State Commission to Promote Public Confidence in Judicial Elections; serving as court-appointed Special Master of Family
Homelessness in New York City; serving as a court-appointed judicial referee in the case of Campaign for Fiscal Equity v. New York State.

In April, 2007, he was appointed to chair the New York State Ethics Commission and in September, 2007, he will chair the newly created New York
State Commission on Public Integrity. His important professional involvements have
been: serving as Dean of Fordham Law School; serving as a member of the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom.
