John Upchurch is a Founding Fellow of the American College of Civil Trial Mediators.

John Upchurch is CEO of the mediation group of Upchurch Watson White & Max, a private mediation specialty firm. Among the first class of mediators to become certified in the state of Florida, Mr. Upchurch has become a specialist in the resolution of complex multi-party disputes, including commercial litigation, tort and product liability, medical malpractice, nursing home liability, securities and banking, insurance, discrimination, health law, sports law and employment practices liability, among others. Mr. Upchurch has been recognized as a featured speaker and writer on complex issues relating to dispute resolution and conflict management.

Background

Elected the youngest circuit judge in Florida history in 1976;
Elected Chief Judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit in 1979;
Established one of the first mediation practice groups housed within a general practice law firm, which existed from 1988 to 1997, prior to the formation of Upchurch Watson White & Fraxedas;
Charter Member of the Florida Supreme Court Committee on Mediation and Arbitration;
Elected to the CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution’s Panel of Distinguished Neutrals in 1991; subsequently appointed to Employment, Sports Law and Year 2000 Panels.
