About

My passion is the art and science of conflict resolution. In 1994, I co-founded the ADR Section of the Georgia Bar Association and later served as its third Chairperson. In 1996 I Co-Chaired the Georgia ADR Institute and I continue to be a frequent speaker on the subject of mediation and conflict resolution.

I am a graduate of the University of Georgia in both Philosophy (1974) and Law (1977). I began my law practice as a sole practitioner in Marietta, Georgia and have since practiced in small (Fishman, Kendrick & ;rdon), medium (Johnson & Mont;mery) and large (Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, PLLC) firms. In 2010, I resigned my membership at Womble Carlyle to more fully devote my efforts and attention to conflict resolution outside the courtroom.

I am a member of the Georgia Bar and am admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Georgia, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. I have been specially admitted to practice and argue in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and numerous other state and federal courts across the country.

I am a panel member with Henning Mediation and Arbitration and also serve on arbitration panels administered by the American Arbitration Association. I am a Registered Neutral and a Registered Domestic Relations Neutral with the Georgia Office Of Dispute Resolution.

In addition to my primary professional pursuits, I served on the Board of Directors of a community bank (1987 – 1997), have completed five Ironman Triathlons (numerous shorter races), enjoy backpacking, non-competitive kayaking, writing, cooking (especially barbeque artistry) and firmly believe there is no better time spent than with Bambi, my wife of over thirty years, and family in the North Georgia mountains around Suches, Georgia. We participate in a number of diverse ministries.
